McKain Lakey- What Are They Doing in Heaven Today?

A lot has been happening in the world the last few weeks and months, both in communities close to me, and communities far away. In the midst of a lot of hardship and tragedy, people are working hard, and grieving, and coming together to carry forward.

This song comes from Washington Phillips, recorded in the late 1920s with him singing and accompanying himself on Celestaphone. It strikes me how it can still carry so much weight 90 years after the fact. Singing it has helped me through some rough days, so I thought it could be useful to share.
