DXNMedia TV - What we think of the Smallrig Forevala W60 wireless microphone after using for a year.

We own many wireless microphones since the era of Sennheiser G1 series, Sony UWP series, used the early generation of 2.4ghz systems like the Rodelink, Audio Technica System 10 ENG kit, and a couple of Deity Connect and Pocket Wireless systems. Amid all the newer compact wireless mics for vlogging, we thought this Smallrig W60 is the most convenient and least hassle dual channel system. They totally worked well for a quick and dirty audio grab, for door-stop interviews, piece to cameras, and short interviews. Its something we don't mind deploying if we know we can afford to re-take, but not for broadcast interviews with high value clients. After using for a year, we find that the battery life for one of the transmitter is getting very short. it would show full, but just after 20mins, it'll drop to zero and shutdown. Perhaps end of the useful battery cycle life. There are no screws or threadings that we can open to see if we can swap out the lithium battery inside. Considering its out of warranty after a year, and shipping to Smallrig will cost a bit even if they're willing to service. Guess its pretty much a use and throw concept after the end of its useful battery cycling life.
