LPR - a Vocal Injury you might have and not even know - Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
Today we're going to be talking about a vocal injury that is so common, but most people don't even know they have it. It's called laryngopharyngeal reflux or LPR for short. Laryngopharyngeal reflux is a condition in which acid that is made in the stomach travels up the esophagus (swallowing tube) and gets to the throat. Symptoms include sore throat and an irritated larynx (voice box).
I'd like to share with you my own horrible experience with this silent reflux. It just about destroyed my singing voice. I went to an ear, nose and throat doctor, had a laryngoscopy, and with a lot of research, I was able to fix my throat. In this video, we're going to go through what LPR is, how to identify if you have Laryngopharyngeal reflux, and what you can do to help heal yourself.
