Aasta Hansteen marine operations 2018
Very soon the world’s largest spar-platform, Aasta Hansteen, will be towed the 500 nautical miles from Stord to the field in the Norwegian Sea. The platform weighs 70 000 tonnes and is 339 meters from the pull in tubes to the tip of the flare, and it will be a spectacular sight when it passes the narrow fjords in Norway. In this animation you can see how the operation will commence. The Aasta Hansteen field is expected to produce gas late 2018.
