Julias Malema Speaks after court ruling

East London Magistrate's Court has found Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and South African opposition figure, guilty of firing a firearm in public seven years ago.

The case stems from a 2018 video that went viral, showing Malema firing multiple shots into the air during the EFF's fifth anniversary celebration in the Eastern Cape province.

He was charged alongside his former bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman, who has been found not guilty by the court.

This marks Malema’s second conviction in under two months, and he could face up to 15 years in prison
