This is part one in a series of videos of Milton H. Erickson, MD, from the 1970s when he was conducting teaching seminars. Students from around the world came for an opportunity to be with Erickson at these teaching seminars, and The Erickson Foundation is fortunate to have many hours of video featuring these sessions. These videos of Erickson were not made with professional equipment, but they give insight into the type of teaching that Erickson did when students came to him to learn about hypnosis and psychotherapy.

The cases in this first video are about strategic psychotherapy. Erickson had two parts - a hypnotic part and a strategic part. The hypnotic part would use formal hypnosis. The strategic part was hypnotherapy without trance. To know Erickson is to know both parts.
