The 2017 Beta 300RR is a good dirt bike. Beta thought a bunch of things out really well when they designed this bike. From the motor to the tires, they have some really winners and didn’t many any major blunders, or show stoppers. Beta’s tagline is “ride-ability” and I thin they have done a really good job at making this bike rideable directly from the factory. It comes with a little softer motor hit than most of the other 2 stroke 300s I have been around. it’s got the lower seat height, which many riders will certainly appreciate. It’s got a great clutch, and decent brakes, although I never did get comfortable with the front brake setup.
This dirt bike is an oil injected 2 stroke so you don’t need to mix gas. This is a plus to many riders who simply want to put pump gas in their machines and not worry about mixing ratios. That means that if you find yourself on a long ride, you can simply pull up to a gas pump and you are good to go since the oil reservoir will last you for about 5 full tanks of gas.
This bike is set up from the factory to do the tight woods, gnarly rocks, and mountain single track. Those are the place where it will be best suited. Desert riders will find that the suspension doesn’t like to be pushed hard. Once you get into 4th gear and up, the forks and shock really struggle to keep up the pace. Beta has a “race edition” of this dirt bike that should be more suited to handle those conditions.
