'John Wick' franchise director says inspiration for fifth film hasn't hit yet

"If we had an idea that we both got behind, I'd be in production tomorrow on it - on 'John Wick 5.' You know, we give it a little time. We let it rest. Remember, like, the Wicks aren't supposed to be movies. They're like little representations of us and what we love. If I force it right now, you know, all my little mythology talks and all my little - we're going to do this 'The Good, The Bad, The Ugly' meets 'Lawrence of Arabia' - I can put one of those together, you know, I could just make some shit up right now and tell you, you know, we're going to do this and it'll be cool like that. And that's not really what they're about. It's like waking up, having that moment of inspiration where you really think and you really believe you need to do this. Like there's the why, right? We just haven't had that yet. But it usually - it's always taken us a good year in between shows to really just let it sit and have a little bit more life experience, because at the end of the day, the only way to do '5' is if Keanu gets better, I get better, the crew gets better. So sometimes you need a little growing space."
