‘Important moment’: Online retailers see ‘substantial pickup’ ahead of Christmas
CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says the markets are experiencing an “important moment” as the Christmas shopping season kicks off.
“The anecdotes coming out of the retailers have been important – there have been suggestions that there has been a substantial pickup in online sales,” Mr Piotrowski told Sky News Australia.
“But perhaps, the brick and mortar outcomes have been a little bit shy of expectations.”
As retailers were in focus on Friday, Amazon was flat, Lululemon was up 0.75 per cent and Ralph Lauren was up 1.5 per cent.
