DIY Electronic Drum Kick Pedal

in response to a video by Demonic Sweaters - here is what I did based on some designs from brodafin - check out his channel on YT.

piezo can be bought for £4 for 100 but soldering is tricky

melt a blob of solder on end of iron
then tap it onto the white part of the disc
really quick so as to not damage
let it cool then carefully remelt and plop hot wire there.
solder ground wire to outside
carefully twist wires around each other
sandwich the piezo between some foam or rubber and wire ends to a 1/4" jack.

some folks put parallel resistor and zener diode in circuit to stop damage to drum brain. as I have a cheap Aleses DM5 I don't bother.
