Hard-wiring a dash cam in a Volkswagen ID.3 - updated
In this video I'll show you how to hard-wire a dashcam into a Volkswagen ID.3.
------------------------------------------
This is an updated video to add in extra steps in order to safely route the dash cam cable behind the curtain airbag. It was pointed out in the original video that I had compromised the safety of the airbag by running the cable across it.
Big thanks to Steve for pointing out the mistake.
-------------------------------------------
I use a DC-DC converter to reduce 12v down to 5v for a USB powered dashcam.
A ROAV C1 Pro dashcam is used, but the procedure should be the same for any USB powered camera.
All items I use are listed at the bottom and are available from Amazon.
Please exercise caution when carrying out this procedure.
