If you are looking for designer breeds or specific dogs you may have to purchase a dog like this too. I had to make sure that the breeder was legit so we FaceTimed to pick out my puppy! There are a lot of scammers out there asking for deposits for puppies. They usually won't FaceTime with you, you should always be able to at least FaceTime or video chat. I had spoke with my breeder over the phone first and then when the puppies were 5 weeks old we had the FaceTime call where I got to pick out my puppy. I had very specific needs, I wanted a female, and to be apricot in color. The breeder then chose those dogs for me to choose from.
