ACES PBR Validator for Substance Painter
Download the tool here: https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/j1bpg/aces-pbr-validator
Are you struggling to validate your textures for ACEScg workflow in Substance Painter? The PBR Validate filter doesn't currently support it so I created this tool to help!
This tool simplifies checking the value ranges for albedo (dark/bright) and metal reflectance in your textures. It offers two modes:
Color Mode:Analyzes dark and bright value ranges for both albedo and metal reflectance. Safe ranges include:
No albedo values below 30 or 50 RGB
No albedo values above 240 or 249 RGB
Roughness Mode (Optional): Provides a visual aid to identify textures with roughness values too close to perfect mirrors or matte surfaces.
For a deeper understanding of PBR and these safe ranges, refer to The PBR Guide by the Substance Team:

Part 2: https://creativecloud.adobe.com/learn/substance-3d-designer/web/the-pbr-guide-part-2
A big thanks to the ACES community, especially Christophe Brejon, Thomas Mansencal, Liam Collod, and Anton Palmqvist. Additional thanks to Arianna Querin, Zack Osmond, and Odei Arrizabalaga for their invaluable beta testing.
Feedback & Support:
We welcome any suggestions, bug reports, or questions! Feel free to get in touch.
