Obi Mark grew up in the late 1970s and early ’80s, falling in love with films like Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, and The Black Hole. After rediscovering his fandom in his 40s, he began collecting memorabilia, which now fills his “man cave” — affectionately renamed Dudes HQ.Boba Dave, born in the late 1960s, describes how seeing Star Wars in early 1978 as a 10-year-old was a life-changing experience. It sparked a lifelong love for movies, science fiction, and collecting. Although he no longer has his original Star Wars toys, he still collects modern memorabilia and is also a fan of Hammer Horror and classic monsters.
The hosts also explain how they met at an open mic night and how their nicknames were born: Obi Mark for Mark’s Jedi fandom and Boba Dave for Dave’s admiration of Boba Fett — “the least screen time, the most coolness.”
They reminisce about favourite moments from Star Wars: A New Hope and tease future discussions, including deep dives into The Empire Strikes Back, collectibles, and other sci-fi franchises like Lord of the Rings, Predator, and Alien.
