Making soup in a pressure cooker.
This is our first off grid cooking video. We look at one of the off-griders most useful tools; the pressure cooker. We also demonstrate it by making a delicious cream of carrot and tarragon soup. Our first “cook with Mark & Lori” video!
The ingredients list and a list of cooking times and pressure levels for lots of different foods can be found on our website at the following link:

About us.
Hi, We are Lori & Mark.
We bought our almond Finca (farm) in 2001 and planned to build a retreat with 5 log cabins. It was supposed to be our pension plan. When the law suddenly changed, we were left with most of our savings gone and a piece of land we couldn’t build on. After much research we discovered we could put up a temporary dwelling and we settled on a geodesic dome. We built it ourselves and moved into it in August of 2004. We’ve been living here ever since. We live at the end of a 2km dirt track, in the Sierra de las Nieves mountains, right on the edge of a huge national park. We have miles of tracks through the park and we use electric mountain bikes, powered by the sun, to explore them all. Our home has been through many changes as we struggled to cope with a massive economic downturn and extreme weather. We created new careers for ourselves and learned to live completely off-grid. Solar electricity, rainwater harvesting and composting toilets are our daily experiences. To help supplement our income we built a little house to rent out and run courses in.
Join us as we tell you about our lives and challenges.
Mark & Lori.
