Sto Perigiali (Mikis Theodorakis cover)

This is the music I heard a lot when I was young. My mother played Greek music a lot on the turntable. I learned to like it and when my parents bought me a Greek bouzouki on one of their trips to Greece, I even learned to play some of this great music. I haven't played my bouzouki for a long time but when I recently revisited some Mikis Theodorakis (in the picture) music, I decided to learn this song. Maria Farantouri sang this beautiful song a long time ago.

The harmony parts and phrases are all my assumption of how a bouzouki is played. I mean, I don't know really. And, It's not so easy. I struggled quite a lot technically and because a bouzouki is tuned differently than a guitar. I also noticed my bouzouki needs a set of new strings. So some notes are not sounding quite right.

Mixing wise this was a bit different than what I usually do. The backing instruments are not supposed to stand out separately, it should be a band, one unit, at least this is what I felt when I recalled the classic mixes. It's vintage music, so not kick or snare drum poking with every hit.
