Cosmic Rays in a Cloud Chamber - Teaser

Just a short video I took of my cloud chamber capturing some cosmic rays (or at least the byproducts of cosmic rays hitting various atoms). Think of it as a teaser for a future video where I'll go into detail on both the physics and construction of the cloud chamber!

The particle paths you're seeing are left by high-energy ionizing particles (like muons, photons (gamma, x-ray), electrons, positrons, alpha particles, and surely others. What's neat about them is that they have extra-solar origin, as they are the result of cosmic rays hitting our atmosphere. Supernovae, or galactic cores, spewing these particles out millions or billions of years ago, end their journey here in my cloud chamber. Enjoy.
