Hackers Stay Hidden for DAYS | Median Dwell Time Explained

The worst thing that can happen to a person is not even knowing they have a disease.

Because once a person realizes it, they will treat it and recover quickly.

The same applies to cybersecurity.

If an organization takes time to realize it has been hacked, that delay is called Median Dwell Time.

In 2011, it took around 416 days for companies to detect a hack — more than a year.

But with today’s security advancements, threats can now be detected in around 10 days, allowing faster action.

While hackers try to stay hidden for as long as possible, cybersecurity experts continuously work to detect and stop them.
