Queen Elizabeth II is known the world over as the United Kingdom's head of state, but when it comes to the nation she rules, she doesn't exactly wield a ton of political power. That's not the case for her own family, however.

Regardless of the queen's formal powers, her opinion is still one that carries weight, and when it comes to internal royal family politics, it might be as good as law. If you're a royal family member who tried to name your baby something she disapproves of, well… you're probably going to change that name.
