South Sudan: One Year On

2014 saw millions of South Sudanese on the move – fleeing a conflict that erupted one year ago and caught the world by surprise.

Since last December, nearly 2 million children, women and men have been uprooted from their homes. Close to 500,000 refugees poured into neighboring countries.

Seventy per cent of those fleeing are children, leading many to call the dire situation in South Sudan a “children’s crisis.”
