Sudan military leader defends coup in new speech

Anti-coup protesters are demonstrating for a second consecutive day despite security forces responding violently.
Army General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan imposed a nationwide state of emergency, dismantled the transitional leadership and arrested political leaders including Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok on Monday.
The military also cut off internet access and closed some roads in Khartoum.
The United Nations Security Council is expected to discuss the situation privately on Tuesday.
