Canadians Reacquire Philippine Citizenship
Thirty Canadians took the oath on Thursday, September 19, 2019, and reacquired their Filipino citizenship in simple ceremonies at the Philippine Consulate General's office in midtown Toronto. New Consul General Orontes V. Castro presided. Among those sworn in were Raul and Arlene who hail from Quezon province. To Arlene, regaining her Filipino identity makes her feel secure. On the other hand, Ms. Evelyn says she's honoured to take back her Filipino citizenship. Consul General Castro explains some benefits of being a Filipino citizen again.
