How I learned Arabic on my own (as an American)

This week's video is all about learning Arabic!

A lot of you have been asking how I learned Arabic and what I've been doing to study. I discuss my learning techniques and study tips, and give insight into my personal experience in learning Arabic.

As a native speaker of English, learning Arabic can seem like a big challenge as it has an unfamiliar alphabet and sounds that we may not be used to. Even though it's said that Arabic is one of the most difficult languages to master, it IS possible to learn and you should not be discouraged because of that!

Like with anything, language learning is a process and depending on the effort you're willing to put into it, may take anywhere from months to years to master. I'm definitely still a beginner as I only started learning in January, but I can read and write in Arabic and I know basic conversational spoken Arabic.

I hope this video is beneficial for anyone looking to learn Arabic, whether it be for religious, cultural, or personal reasons! Being in quarantine is a great opportunity to dedicate time to learn a new language :)
