7 Folding Technology That Define Innovation

00:00 ● Intro

00:17 ● 1. The World´s First Foldable 165 Inch MicroLED TV
C SEED, a company known to make high-end outdoor televisions, has debuted the M1 – a whopping 165-inch 4K MicroLED beast that folds up and tucks away right underneath your floorboard. Before you get any ideas, the television retails for nearly half a million dollars, so it’s safe to say that only a select few will be able to afford this bad-boy.It may be the world’s coolest party-trick, but imagine being able to summon a television from the underground as your guests watch in sheer astonishment. Hit a button on the remote and the floor splits apart, with this pillar rising from within the chasm. The pillar then unfolds into a wide 165-inch screen, perfect to watch the Golden Globes on.

Ten Fold Engineering has developed a series of modular, self-deploying structures that can be instantly unfolded without the need for builders.

03:51 ● 3. Folding Drone Can Drop Into Inaccessible Mines - Prometheus

Inspecting old mines is a dangerous business. For humans, mines can be lethal: prone to rockfalls and filled with noxious gases.
Robots can go where humans might suffocate, but even robots can only do so much when mines are inaccessible from the surface. Now, researchers in the UK, led by Headlight AI, have developed a drone that could cast a light in the darkness. Named Prometheus, this drone can enter a mine through a borehole not much larger than a football, before unfurling its arms and flying around the void. Once down there, it can use its payload of scanning equipment to map mines where neither humans nor robots can presently go. This, the researchers hope, could make mine inspection quicker and easier. The team behind Prometheus published its design in November in the journal Robotics.

2018 Skyscraper Competition : First Place - Foldable Skyscraper for Disaster Zones
An origami-inspired skyscraper that folds up like an accordion could help provide temporary shelter to hundreds of people left homeless in disasterzones.Designed by a group of Polish architects, the Skyshelter.zip concept couldbe packed into a box and carried underneath a helicopter to almost any site.

06:44 ● 5. DiFOLD Origami Bottle! Revolutionary space-saving bottle
DiFOLD designs collapsible and reusable 'origami bottle' to reduce packaging waste.Devised around the principle idea of reducing packaging waste while creating a stylish water flask, the team at DiFOLD has designed the origami bottle. foldable, reusable, and recyclable, the product utilizes collapsible design technology developed by petar zaharinov – co-founder of DiFOLD. compact when folded and stable when unfolded, the origami technology can reduce the volume of empty containers by 80-90%, leading to radical logistical optimization and savings in fuel and CO2 emissions.

09:14 ● 6. Klapster - The folding stairs
Klapster redefines the standards for optimizing usage of space. With its extremely adaptable design, Klapster offers optimal furnishing possibilities for flexible, space-saving and individual living. The folding stairway integrates discretely into the wall when not needed, thereby expanding valuable living space. Whether as a useful space saving staircase or as a stylish design piece, – the concept of the downsizing staircase accommodates every physical space and creates moments of surprise and delight for guests.

10:30 ● 7. Park & Diamond
Collapsible bike helmet moonlights as a baseball cap

Everybody knows a bike helmet could save your life, but that doesn't stop people ditching them because they look dorky or are too bulky to stash in a bag. The Park & Diamond is a new helmet designed to solve both of those problems, resembling a baseball cap when it's on your head and collapsing down to the size of a water bottle when it's not.The Park & Diamond is (perhaps a tad morbidly) named after the intersection where the sister of one of the co-founders was involved in a devastating hit-and-run, leaving her in a coma for several months. This event inspired co-founders David Hall and Jordan Klein to develop the new helmet.
