2011 BMW 640i F12 is still as reliable and lovely to drive

Happy birthday to BMW (7th of March)

Officially, BMW was incorporated in 1916 after the merger of Bavaria Flugzeugwerke and Rapp Motorenwerke.

Officially Mercedes-Benz was incorporated in 1926 after the merger of Daimler Motoren Gesselschaft and Benz & Cie.

Bavaria Flugzeugwerke used to be Otto Flugzeugwerke, the company that originated from Nikolaus Otto, the inventor of the four stroke Otto cycle engine that enables all internal combustion engine in the 1860s

Benz & Cie was founded by Karl Benz, who created the Benz Patentmotorwagen in 1886.

Daimler Motoren Gesselschaft was founded by Wilheim Maybach and Gottlieb Daimler, who created the Mercedes 35 car model that was so successful it outshined the company DMG and resulted in them changing their car brand to Mercedes while remaining the company name as Daimler.

Both Wilheim and Gottlieb were employees of Nikolaus Otto back in the 1860s.

August Horch was an employee of DMG, and later founded Horch and then Audi.

So if Audi can claim Horch as their beginnings and Daimler can claim Benz &Cie's beginnings as part of their history and beginnings, why didn't BMW not claim Nikolaus Otto's beginnings as their history? They should.

Founder of Audi used to work for founder of Mercedes-Benz and founder of Mercedes-Benz used to work for founder of BMW. Wouldn't that be so awesome? 😂
