Fox and Hound FF310 by GTC :Tutioral
http://www.olct.co/Circuit-Diagnostics/fault-finder-electrical-open-and-short-fault-finder-tracer - The perfect tool for locating short circuits, open circuits, and wire tracing on 6 - 42 volt systems.
The GTC FF310's transmitter injects pulses of current and a radio frequency for detection by the receiver. Made in Canada by General Technologies Corp, this tool is the winner of a PTEN innovation award.
Open Circuits
When installed in a circuit the transmitter emits a radio frequency, as the signal is only able to travel as far as the wire has continuity, the receiver will stop receiving the transmitters signal where there is an open circuit.
Short Circuits
When installed in a circuit, if the transmitter finds continuity to earth, it automatically illuminates the "short circuit" light and sends current pulses. The emitted current pulses are detected at the short location, Using the adjustable sensitivity on the receiver can help narrow down the area (high), harness (medium), and wire (low). as the receiver gets closer to the short, the receiver's beeping increases frequency.
Tracing wires
Using the 3 sensitivity settings, the FF310 is also useful in locating wires, be it from one end of a coach to the other, or, finding a particular wire from the ECU in an engine bay.
