My all in one sponge - for a 1 pound loaf tin or 10 small fairy cakes. 1/2 an Anerican cup is 4oz

2 eggs
4oz ( 1/2 cup ) butter
4oz. Sugar
4oz flour
Half a teaspoon baking powder

Bake in a medium heat oven.
