This Plant Heals Bones Faster Than Medicine. Why Did the FDA Ban It?

In 90 AD, a Greek physician named Dioscorides documented a plant with sticky roots in a text called Materia Medica. For fifteen hundred years, that text remained Europe's primary medical reference. And for all those centuries, this one plant was prescribed for broken bones. The Greeks called it symphyton. It meant to make grow together. The Romans proved it worked. Pliny the Elder boiled the roots into a paste and used it to stick pieces of meat together. The adhesive held.

For two thousand years, Europeans called this plant knit bone. Soldiers used it to heal fractures on the battlefield. And in 2010, randomized clinical trials proved it reduces pain ninety-five percent faster than placebo. Then the FDA banned it. Not because it failed. Because it worked too well and it cost nothing.
