“The Young Lady and the Hooligan” debuted at Bayer Ballet’s “Inside the Vaganova System,” featuring Alina Taratorin (17 years) & Ivan Kotelnikov (17 Years)

The dancers learned this piece during Bayer Ballet’s 6-week Summer Intensive, July/August 2019. The dancers’ ability to to understand and interpret the complex character development and intricate choreography, as required for this piece, is a testament to their Vaganova training.

This excerpt from the Ballet, which originally premiered 28 December 1962, Maly Opera and Ballet Theatre, Leningrad is an example of the acting skills and mime curriculum, integral to the Vaganova training, through which dancers are taught how to effectively communicate with the audience.

This is a tale of moral transformation and the power of the emotion of love to ignite change.⁣
