Ukraine War News: Massive Drone Strike Deep Inside Russia | Latest Ukraine War News Update
Unidentified Drones Hit Russian City of Cheboksary | Latest Ukraine War News.
In today’s Ukraine War News Update, multiple unidentified drones struck the Russian city of Cheboksary in the Chuvashia Republic during the early hours of November 26th—marking what appears to be the second attack on the same electronic-warfare facility in recent months.
According to overnight footage circulating on Russian social media, a powerful blast around 2:40 am shook the city, followed by additional explosions near the outskirts and the nearby village of Lapsary. Videos show a large fire and heavy black smoke rising from one of the districts after the reported strike.
Regional leader Oleg Nikolayev later confirmed the republic was hit by a drone attack, stating that two people—including a teenager—were injured and several residential buildings sustained damage. These details remain unverified.
Russian sources widely claim the target was once again the VNIIR-Progress electronic warfare plant, located nearly 970 km from the closest part of the Ukrainian border. If confirmed, this highlights Ukraine’s growing long-range strike capability deep inside Russian territory.
The VNIIR-Progress plant produces key electronic warfare components—including the Kometa antenna—and is already sanctioned by the U.S. and EU.
More Ukraine War News - Ukraine Rejects Key Demands in Revised U.S. Peace Plan:
Ukraine reportedly supports much of the revised U.S. peace proposal but rejects three central demands:
– Reducing the size of its armed forces
– Abandoning NATO membership
– Making territorial concessions
Gen. Hnatov clarified that Geneva talks focused only on the structure of Ukraine’s future peacetime army, not demobilization.
U.S. Political Fallout Over Ukraine Support
Tensions in Washington are escalating. Republican Congressman Don Bacon sharply criticized U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, saying his actions align with Russian interests. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick added that secret backchannel dealings must end.
Reports from WSJ and Bloomberg now reveal that Witkoff allegedly helped Russia derail Ukraine’s access to Tomahawk missiles, alerting Moscow in advance about President Zelensky’s U.S. visit and giving the Kremlin time to influence the decision.
Representative Mike Quigley questioned whether future U.S. security guarantees can be trusted, noting past failures to hold Russia accountable.
Kremlin Reaction
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it is too early to assume the war is nearing its end. Russia appears intent on dragging out negotiations to avoid any meaningful resolution. As always, the Kremlin’s goal is delay—not peace.
