Hi guys it's Sara~ I figured I'd give a more detailed explanation to this question than what was in the other Q&A video (which I don't even remember asked there either, we may have answered it but I'm too lazy to look right now) so hopefully this explains well enough ^^

The group first un-officially started with Susan and some of her friends plus Lizzie back in 2011. A few years after they had been experimenting with cosplay Susan and Lizzie had really wanted to compete at San Japan 5 coming up summer of 2012, but Susan's friend's weren't all too interested. We (the rest of cosplay genkai) were all friend's with Lizzie at the time and also interested in cosplay (some of us had already been cosplaying separately ourselves) so Lizzie asked some of us if we had wanted to compete with them. We said yes, competed for the first time together, and fell in love with cosplaying and competing. After that competition is when we really came together as a group and took on the title of Cosplay Genkai officially.
