Understanding the Art World

Understanding the Art World is crucial if you want to have a successful career as an artist👍

The Art World is made up of many different villages, each with much different parameters on what constitutes great art. Today I'm just going to focus on the two most relevant to most artists:

1️⃣ Commercial Sales: This is my village, where artists sell their art to clients directly, or through commercial galleries🎨💳
2️⃣ Post Modernism: Dominated by publicly funded art galleries and museums, great art in this village is determined by what the artist feels about the work, not the work itself🏫

If you cannot differentiate between these two villages, it is very difficult to become a successful artist.
