Victorian government under pressure to repurpose it's sobering up centres
Victorian government is under pressure to turn multimillion-dollar sobering up centres into mental health accommodation after it was revealed many sit empty.
On average, three people have been using sobering up facilities each day in its first five months of operation.
The Allan government has committed a further $53 million to establish more of the centres in regional areas over the next two years.
Victoria's opposition criticised the move and said the existing centres should be re-purposed to aid the mental health sector.
