Mariah Carey is an artist that does not get enough respect from generation Z. Many could probably only point out a few songs of hers and that's either “All I Want for Christmas” or “Obsessed”, the latter because of a trendy Tik Tok dance. Now considering I only got into Mariah 3 years ago, I might be speaking from experience. It’s only when I took the time to go through her lengthy discography, that I found she is so much more than just a powerhouse vocalist. Her songwriting and production abilities are unmatched and her innovative thinking created the pop/rap landscape we know of today. Whether it's Taylor Swifts "Bad Blood" or Selena Gomez's "Good for you", they all used the formula Mariah created in "Butterfly". In this video, we go over the significance of the album to Mariah's life as well as the music industry as a whole.
