Roger Lima is the maestro behind White Noise Lab, a Los Angeles-based sound design studio that composes soundtracks for television commercials. He crafts pumping dance-floor beats for Under Armour, symphonic harmonies for Hyundai or Lexus, and folksy riffs for Microsoft. Sound helps tell a story in any 30-second advertisement, and Roger is the versatile producer who matches music to a message and a mood.

Jumping between musical styles and projects is time-consuming. The Seaboard RISE has revolutionized Roger’s workflow because it saves him time. Whether he’s layering beats or picking out melodies, he can compose spontaneously on the Seaboard — much as he would on the guitar, his favorite instrument.

He also loves the guitar-like imperfections that the Seaboard allows in his compositions. “I like that stuff is not always in the very same key. It’s can be slightly off key. There’s something about the human ear that lets you know it’s real. It’s someone playing it, as opposed to overly produced sound that loses some of the magic and feels artificial.”
