Using QGIS to Assess the Frequency of Location Points to Specific Environmental Features
Presented by Jess Robinson, PhD, Vermont State Archaeologist.
First 3 minutes is black screen while Jess makes some introductory comments - sorry about that! We will work on editing and reposting.
As part of an ongoing evaluation of the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation’s archaeological predictive model, Jess needed to assess precontact archaeological sites’ proximity to a select list of current and/or past environmental features important to Native American communities. The process for doing this in QGIS was not straightforward, however. In this webinar, Jess will summarize the workflow he developed for getting these data, and then briefly discuss the importance of these data for understanding past land use and for predicting archaeological site locations.
