The New Testament shows Jesus as the epitome of what it means to be a Preacher. In every case, He recognized a teachable moment and shared God's Word to help people become what God created them to be.
Israel of Jesus' time was not filled with a consistent set of beliefs. We see the magnitude of the contrasts when we read about Jesus’ discussion in Caesarea Philippi. He was in the center of idolatry and He was still in jurisdictions of Jewish leaders. Their world, I guess, was as diverse as ours and it needed the gospel just as much as ours does today.
