Liverpool And FSG A huge plan to expand Anfield plan

Liverpool have unveiled ambitious plans to take the capacity of Anfield beyond the 60,000 mark and make it one of the largest grounds in the Premier League and Europe.

Following expansion work to the Main Stans that was completed shortly after the 2016/17 season commenced, Liverpool are hoping to continue to meet the extraordinary demand at Anfield with Phase Two of their redevelopment of the famous old ground.
A plan to add around 7,000 seats to the Anfield Road end in time for the 2022/23 season would take the stadium's overall capacity to around 61,000 and create the third largest stadium in the league, behind only Old Trafford and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When Liverpool took to the field in September 2016 in a 4-1 demolition of Leicester, they did so in front of 8,500 additional fans, the end result of a two-and-a-half year project to redevelop the Main Stand.

Anfield's capacity shot up from around 45,000 to around 53,400 following the earlier redevelopment.
