A principios de la primera mitad del siglo veinte de la era común, existían cerca de mil creencias religiosas repartidas por toda Oceanía gracias a la enorme diversidad de pueblos que hay en el continente. Fue aquí donde tuvo lugar el nacimiento de una nueva creencia religiosa bastante peculiar durante la 2ª G.M., el llamado culto de cargo o culto a John Frum.
