This black & white educational film is about the Jefferson Memorial, which contains memorabilia related to Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974). Lindbergh was an American aviator, who made the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean on May 20-21, 1927. Other pilots had crossed the Atlantic before him but Lindbergh was the first person to do it alone nonstop. Lindbergh's feat gained him immediate, international fame. There is no copyright but this is circa the 1940s.

Opening title: The Lindbergh Story (:08-:18). May 20, 1927, Charles Lindbergh readies himself as he boards his plane, The Spirit of St. Louis. A windy morning at New York's Roosevelt Field. The plane taxis down the runway, bucks down the field and finally it rises into the air. People cheer. Lindbergh has landed in Paris 33 hours later. Charles Lindbergh is a hero. He looks ahead at a camera. Lindbergh returns by boat to NYC and meets President Coolidge. A parade in Washington, D.C. for Lindbergh. He receives a special reward from the President. His return to NYC was met with a floating flotilla of tugboats, yachts, and various kinds of boats. Aerial shot of NYC. A ticker tape parade in New York City for Charles Lindbergh. A sign reads Welcome Lindbergh (:19-2:57). Police on horseback. Lindbergh rides in a car during a parade. Tons of people watch the parade. Jefferson Memorial, home of the Lindbergh Trophies. The woman in charge of these, Mrs. Frank Kurt, speaks near a bust of Lindbergh. Medals Lindbergh received. A bust of his head. Models of the planes that Lindbergh flew. A chest of flat silverware which was given to Lindbergh. In the Lindbergh collection is some of his clothing, like his flight suit. His flight boots (2:58-6:18). The bust head of Lindbergh. Exterior of Jefferson Memorial, now the Missouri History Museum. A portrait of William B. Robertson. Mrs. Robertson speaks about Lindbergh. She shows a picture of Lindbergh. She continues to speak. She shows another photo of Lindbergh. She then shows photos of other people involved with Lindbergh (6:19-8:54). A lunchroom at Lambert Field, Louis D. Autry speaks about knowing Lindbergh. He holds pictures and newspaper articles (8:55-10:11). The new airport in St. Louis, planes taxi, exterior of the airport (10:12-10:47). No end credits.

The Missouri History Museum is located in St. Louis, Missouri in Forest Park showcasing Missouri history. The Jefferson Memorial Building, built in 1913 with profits from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, is the current home of the museum. The museum is operated by the Missouri Historical Society, which was founded in 1866. The main galleries of the museum are free through a public subsidy by the Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District
