Mid back pain, shoulder blade pain: exercise and posture correction tips for the rhomboid muscles

The rhomboid muscles cause pain in the mid back, between the shoulder blade and the spine. Their job is to bring your shoulder blades horizontally towards each other. They are typically overloaded by round shouldered postures.

When you have a round shoulders posture, you also have head forward posture. This can in turn cause neck pain, upper back pain, arm pain and more. Therefore, we need to look at two topics: posture correction on the one hand, pain relief exercises on the other hand.

Here is my advice as an ergonomics expert and as a posture therapist: a secret exercise to train the lower trapezius, which will relieve the rhomboids and help correct your posture.
