How to make a moodboard:
Step 1. Research (in real life) - I recommend going to a library, a museum, art gallery, or going outside and taking photos of all the things! Get those creative juices flowing. You don't necessarily have to have a topic in mind yet.
Step 2. Theme / Topic - With your initial research, come up with a theme (also known as a topic) for your collection. You can flesh this out as you go.
Step 3. More Research - Continue your research online. I recommend searching specific terms on Pinterest to find more photos.
Step 4. Arrange Photos - Arrange your photos on photoshop, a google doc, or print the photos out and arrange manually. I recommend grouping the photos by category or colors and labeling the groups. Choose the BEST photos from the groups and arrange on new board. These photos should represent your theme.
Step 5. Color Story - Use the eyedropper tool on photoshop to get colors from your photos on your board and arrange neatly. I also recommend checking out the Pantone website for choosing colors most similar to your moodboard.
Step 6. How to use a Moodboard - Look at your photos and do word associations for each photo.
hope this helps!
