Absolute carpfest insane big carp fishing including my biggest carp

I certainly wasn't expecting such a red hot carp fishing bite when I set off fishing in the Ovens River last weekend.
We use to catch a lot of carp in the Ovens River years ago, but these days they are few and far between. To catch this many in one outing was certainly unexpected.
I am assuming that this particular spot must be a good spot for carp. For some reason they really like this area.
This was ab absolute carpfest!
Anyhow, with cod season being closed I was happy not to catch a large spawning cod and happy that I got to spend the afternoon listening to the drag on my reel scream as I reeled in some monster carp.
