Day 8: Writing Your First Excel Formula - Automated Math for Beginners! | 90-Day Mastery
Welcome to the most exciting part of the 90-Day Excel Skills Mastery Challenge!
Today, we stop being "Data Entry Clerks" and start being Excel Analysts. We are moving from simply typing names to making Excel do the math for us. If you’ve ever used a calculator to find a balance, this video is going to change your life.
In today’s lesson, you will learn:
The Golden Rule: Why every formula MUST start with an equals sign (=).
Cell Referencing: Why we use G2-H2 instead of typing numbers.
Basic Operators: Addition (+), Subtraction (-), Multiplication (*), and Division (/).
The "Fill Handle" Magic: How to calculate 1,000 rows in 1 second!

TODAY’S PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT:
1. Open your "Student Database" file from last week.
2. Create a new column header in Cell I1 titled: Balance.
3. In Cell I2, type your first formula: =G2-H2 (Tuition minus Paid).
4. Use the Fill Handle (the little green square) to drag the formula down to all 20 students.
