Mini Load Automated Storage and Retrieval System Using NI sbRIO-9642XT
Video submission for 2014 Engineering Impact Awards ASEAN Regional contest.
The Challenge:
Many industrial warehouses are heavily dependent on manual labour in storing and retrieving lightweight goods. Manual handling comes with safety risks, human errors and lower efficiency. Commercial automated systems are meant for heavy load, thus, expensive to be installed.
The Solution:
A low payload automated system is developed to handle lightweight goods in warehouse. Mechanism is kept simple with 3 degree of freedom (3DOF) for low maintenance and costs. Controlled using NI sbRIO-9642XT and NI LabVIEW, this system is extremely robust and allows real-time monitoring of its whole operation.
