Escape the Crowds at Banff National Park! (Peyto Lake)

Banff is amazing, and you DON'T have to share it with endless crowds. Learn where to escape here!

Lake Louise and Moraine Lake take all the attention, but Peyto Lake is right behind them (if not equal) in beauty, and it's also far less crowded. In exchange for a short hike, you may just find yourself alone here. Give it a shot!

For those of you who have concerns about taking the kayak on a plane; I was able to do it with no problems. That being said, make sure to check it in, as it’s definitely way too big to take as carry-on. In addition, keep in mind that it may be labeled as oversized, as it was in my case. They didn’t charge me extra for that, but it did result in a small delay at baggage claim while waiting to pick it up.
