In this video, I'm showing how I make swatches of my new Derwent Artist Coloured Pencils.

I find this an essential tool that enables me to pick out the correct colours a lot quicker. As the colored paint on the pencil end does not always accurately match the actual pencil colour, the colour swatches makes picking colours a lot more accurate.

So the pencils that I'm using in this video called 'Derwent Artists Coloured Pencils 120' are my newest coloured pencil purchase and I'm delighted with them. The are made by Derwent and come in a beautiful wooden box.

These coloured pencils are more natural colours so are well suited for landscape art. If you are looking for more muted and pastel colours rather that the very highly saturated sets such as Polychromos and Prismacolor then this is definitely the perfect set. There are some vibrant colours in the set as well but just a few.

Used with the correct type of paper, these pencils are just beautiful. I've found they work extremely well with the Tan, Toned and Colored Pencils papers by Strathmore.
