Blue Fin Tuna fishing in San Diego is absolutely insane! 230 pound Blue Fin Tuna!

Hello internet! I flew down from Sacramento on Friday evening one way and checked into the Sheraton next to the airport, and on the marina. The hotel has shuttle services to and from the airport, and it is a 10 minute walk to the marina and boat slip that my charter is located at. The charter company is www.IntotheDepthSportfishing.com. Donnie is the owner, and his phone number is 1-858-232-6973. They have a few boats, Parkers and Yellowfin. The Yellowfin 34 is their new ride and boy is it sweet! 3 engines, and it only took about an hour to get to our fishing grounds. That means more fishing time and we can get a lot more done in 1 day. They provide all gear.

I joined an "open" party charter, which means each spot on the boat is privately chartered instead of a "chartered" boat, where the entire boat is chartered. The stars were aligned and I had some great fisherman on my charter and we had the times of our lives. Thank you Andy, Tommy, Hugh, and Alex!

We used "kite' rigs to get our big ones. We did not do or need to do any other kind of fishing.
