Testing Technics RCA leads - Are some Van Damme cables bad ?

If you want to help me with any of my projects I have setup https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/leelegionsmith

Sorry it has a few errors and strange bits, I had to finish this today as I have repairs for the rest of the week and both decks will be going back to customers very soon.

I wanted to test a customers turntable for audio as he said it was not sounding correct at the high end. My ears are old and one is almost deaf (you can see my Baha implant on the video) so I brought a HiFi test LP with a 20hz - 20khz sweep and recorded it to my Zoom. After my initial test to see if it would work I removed the Van Damme mic/instriment cable and replaced with a original Panasonic part and it restored the audio to what it should be. I then continued to test other RCA leads on a deck that had a RCA place fitted so I didnt need to solder anything and could just swap them over. I fitted new connectors to the Van Damme cable I removed and inluded that in the test.

Now this is a very quick test and I am sure there are other ways to do this, but it shows the Van Damme cable has a differant curve to all of the others I tested.

The only problem I have with this video is I never recorded a good part of any music that showed the differance, I was too busy recording and thinking of how to present this !!!!
