Unboxing and Cooking with the Blacklock Cast Iron Skillet
In 2019, Lodge Cast Iron produced the "Blacklock" series of cast iron pans. These are exceptionally thin and light cast iron pans, especially when compared to the modern-day cast iron cookware produced by Lodge...until now. Here is a look at the Blacklock 10 inch skillet, which I'll be using as a new chef skillet in my kitchen. This pan was a joy to cook with, and I'm looking forward to using this many times in the future. It also demonstrates the so-called "rough" surface of this new pan isn't rough at all, especially when compared to heavy cast iron pans from other modern day manufacturers. This is a pan that easily stands alongside the new cast iron pans from Field, Stargazer, Butter Pat, Smithey, Finex, and other companies. Lodge Cast Iron is a heavy hitter in the kitchen cookware market, and the Blacklock series is likely to make the entire industry sit up and take notice.
I did not receive this pan as a promotional gift, and I am not being paid to make this video. I bought this pan at full price from Lodge's Web site, and I feel it's worth every penny. Please post your comments below and let us know what you think.
